The Council of Europe Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law is the first international legally binding treaty on AI governance, covering the entire AI lifecycle.

Parliament gave its consent to the EU concluding this Convention, meaning the EU can now ratify it.
