Parliament adopted positions on several new EU laws, including trade preferences for developing countries and animal welfare rules, and gave its consent to the EU's long-term budget framework.

• Generalised scheme of tariff preferences: Parliament backed renewing preferential import duties for developing countries until 2033, adding stricter monitoring of international conventions and a stronger role for civil society. Greens, S&D, Renew, EPP and Patriots supported it; The Left and ESN opposed.
• Welfare of dogs and cats: MEPs approved new rules on breeding, selling and importing dogs and cats, including identification, bans on ear cropping and pet shop sales, and stricter breeder requirements. The Left, Greens, S&D, Renew, EPP, ECR and Patriots backed it.
• Biocidal products data protection: Parliament agreed to extend certain data protection periods under the Biocidal Products Regulation, taking over the Commission proposal. Greens, S&D, Renew, EPP, ECR, Patriots and ESN supported it; The Left opposed.
• European Globalisation Adjustment Fund: The Fund will now also help workers in direct suppliers and downstream users facing job displacement from restructuring, with safeguards for social dialogue and State aid clarity. The Left, Greens, S&D, Renew, EPP, ECR and Patriots backed it.
• Multiannual financial framework 2028-2034: Parliament gave its consent to the EU's long-term budget framework for 2028-2034, setting spending priorities and limits. Greens, S&D, Renew and EPP supported it; The Left, Patriots and ESN opposed, with ECR mostly abstaining.
