This resolution sets out principles for a gender-equal society, affirming equal dignity and rights before the law, while respecting biological differences and the primary role of parents and the family. It calls on the Commission to ensure equality policies respect subsidiarity and proportionality, and on Member States to combat violence and coercion.
Key points

- Equality means fairness of opportunity and respect for merit, not enforced parity or discriminatory quotas.
- Biological differences between men and women must be respected in sports, safety, healthcare and education.
- Legal distinctions based on sex are allowed only for legitimate public interests and must respect necessity and proportionality.
- Parents have primary responsibility for children's upbringing; the family is the cornerstone of society, and mothers and fathers should be supported.
- Freedoms of thought, conscience, expression and association are essential; there are two genders.
- Condemns all violence, coercion and exploitation against women and men; calls on Member States to prevent, protect and prosecute.
