AddedArticle 37 – paragraph 8: 8. European political parties and European political foundations, the Member States and the independent bodies or experts authorised to audit accounts under this Regulation shall be liable in accordance with applicable national law for any damage they cause in the processing of personal data pursuant to this Regulation. The Member States shall, without prejudice to Regulation (EU) 2016/679, ensure that effective, proportionate and dissuasive sanctions are applied for infringements of this Regulation.

AddedArticle 44 – paragraph 2 a (new): 2a. Any procedural steps and decisions previously taken by the European Parliament, the Council or the Commission, the Authorising Officer of the European Parliament or the Authority in accordance with, or on the basis of, Regulation (EU, Euratom) No 1141/2014 shall remain applicable and be construed in light of this Regulation.

AddedThis amendment is necessary for pressing reasons related to the internal logic of the text in order to ensure its legal consistency.

AddedAnnex II – Part 2 – indent 5 a (new): - in cases where targeting techniques are used, any information required pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2016/679.
