Added3. When preparing the evaluation reports referred to in paragraphs (1) and (2)paragraph 1, the Commission shall consult the EUIPO and stakeholders. [Am. 267]

Added4. The Commission shall submit the evaluation reports referred to in paragraphs (1) and (2)paragraph 1, together with its conclusions drawn based on those reports to the European Parliament, to the Council, to the European Economic and Social Committee and to the Management Board of the EUIPO. The evaluation report referred to in paragraph 1 shall be accompanied, where appropriate, by a legislative proposal. [Am. 268]

AddedArticle 71 Amendments to Regulation (EU) 2017/1001

AddedRegulation (EU) 2017/1001 is amended as follows:

Added1. Article 151(1) is amended as follows:

Added(a) the following point is inserted:

Added‘(ba) administration, promotion and support of the tasks conferred on it, performed by a competence centre, under Regulation (EU) No … of the European Parliament and of the Council+* ;

Added* Regulation (EU) .../... of the European Parliament and of the Council of ... on standard essential patents (OJ ...).;’

Added(b) paragraph 3 is replaced by the following:

Added‘3. The Office may provide alternative dispute resolution services, including mediation, conciliation, arbitration, determination of royalties and FRAND determination.;’

Added2. in Article 157(4), the following point is added:

Added’(p) exercising the powers conferred on him or her under Regulation (EU) …++.;’

Added3. Article 170 is amended as follows:

Added(a) the title is replaced by the following:

Added‘Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre;’

Added(b) paragraphs 1 and 2 are replaced by the following

Added‘1. For the purposes of Article 151(3), the Office may establish an Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre (‘the Centre’).

Added2. Any natural or legal person may use the services of the Centre for settling disputes relating to intellectual property rights;’

Added‘15. The Office may cooperate with other recognised national or international bodies providing alternative dispute resolution services.;’

AddedArticle 72 Entry into force and application

Added1. This Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
